FRIENDS AND FAMILY WILL JOIN ME ALONG THE WAY AND WILL ADD THEIR EXPERIENCES TO THIS BLOG.

Thursday 17 May 2012

Now moored at Tarbert, having had a fusion food tea (Peking chicken and Bombay potatoes).

Virtually every weather known to man on the way and yes we did get some sun.  Decided to come all the way here rather than stop off on Arran as bad weather is forecast tomorrow.  I know, surprising isn't it!?

Passed the west coast of Arran which looks beautiful, tops shrouded in cloud.  Kept seeing the bus going along the coast road.  Carried on up Loch Fyne where we saw harbour porpoises.

Also seen today:  a gannet highway from Mull to Ailsa Craig (where you get your curling stones from), and gannets diving for fish;  seal.

Other non-natural highlight of the day was passing HMS Brocklehurst (minesweeper) after which the depth gauge had a moment almost certainly caused by a submarine in the submarine exercise area.  Well, we reckoned it was that!
